Born in Dandridge, Jefferson County, Tennessee. A resident of Cedar County, Missouri when he enlisted in the 15th Missouri Cavalry for 20 months at Stockton, Cedar County, Missouri. Sick in Cedar County, Missouri Dec 1863 and Jan 1864 with leave. Still sick in Feb 1864, but absent without leave until 15 Feb 1864. Mustered in as a Private in Company M at Stockton, Missouri on 12 Aug 1864. Mustered out at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Died at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Pierce County, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
