He was mustered in as a Private the same day but was not assigned to a company. He mustered out on 14 May 1865 at Springfield, Illinois.
He was a member of Barrett Post No. 3 of Prescott, Yavapai County, Arizona. He was also a member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington.
