Mustered in as a Private in Company B the same day he enlisted. From Apr 1862 to Sep 1862 served as company cook. On 10 Dec 1862 admitted to the hospital at Frederick. Discharged on a Surgeon's certificate of disability at Alexandria, Virginia. Enlisted in the 9th Independent Massachusetts Light Artillery for one year at Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts on 2 Nov 1864. Mustered in as a Private the same day he enlisted. Discharged on 6 Jun 1865 at Galloup's Island, Boston Harbor. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California on 9 Nov 1915, and discharged at his own request on 25 Mar 1916. Died in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.
