William C. Bishop was born in Indiana to Walker Bishop and Rachel Clark and he married Susanna Delker on 10 Apr 1870 in Butler County, Iowa (Children: Frank, Carl, Lulu Cox, and Rose Johnson) He was 18 years of age and residing in Clarksville, Iowa when he enlisted. He was wounded on 9 Apr 1864 at Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. He was mustered out at Davenport, Iowa. Occupation: Farmer.
He was a member of Alfred Sully Post No. 3 of Dayton, Columbia County, Washington. In 1891 he served as Post Commander.
