Mustered in as 5th Sergeant of Company D at Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine on 19 Oct 1861. Promoted to 4th Sergeant in 1862. Commissioned 1st Lieutenant on 24 Feb 1864. Mustered out and honorably discharged at Augusta, Maine.
