Born at Delaware County, New York. A resident and farmer at Genoa, DeKalb County Illinois when he enlisted for three years' service on 15 September 1861 at Sycamore, DeKalb County, Illinois. Mustered in 19 Nov 1861 at Geneva, Kane County, Illinois. He was discharged at the end of his service on 19 November 1864. By 1909 he relocated to Prosser, Benton County, Washington where he was a member of Major John Post No. 114. In 1909 he attended the 27th Annual Encampment of the Department of Washington and Alaska GAR as a delegate. He died at Prosser, Benton County, Washington.
