Born in Canada. A resident of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin when he enlisted in the 14th Wisconsin Infantry on 15 Dec 1861. Mustered in as a Private in Company H. Taken prisoner on 3 Oct 1862 during the Second Battle of Corinth, Mississippi. Discharged for disability on 31 Mar 1863. A resident of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin when enlisted as a Veteran recruit in the 35th Wisconsin Infantry. Mustered in as a Private in Company B. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. On 23 Oct 1911 admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington and discharged at his own request on 21 Dec 1914. Died in Tacoma, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
