Born in Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. A resident of Bradford County, Pennsylvania when he enlisted in the 11th Pennsylvania Cavalry (108th Volunteers) for one year at Troy, Pennsylvania. Mustered in as a Private in Company E at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania the same day he enlisted. Wounded in action on 7 Apr 1865. A member of Luther C. Ladd Post No. 17 of Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. Died in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
