Born in Worcester County, Maryland. Enlisted in the 1st Eastern Shore Maryland Infantry for three years at Salisbury, Maryland. Mustered in as a Private in Company E at Fort Delaware on 29 Feb 1864. Transferred to Company K on 17 Nov 1864 at Baltimore, Maryland. Transferred on 23 Feb 1865 to Company D, 11th Maryland Infantry. Mustered out with his Company at Baltimore, Maryland on 15 Jun 1865. A member of W. H. Seward Post No. 36 of Juneau, Alaska Territory. Served the Post as Quartermaster in 1895. On 28 Jul 1900 admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California where his death would occur in less than three years.
