Mustered in as a Private in Company C on the same day he enlisted. Discharged for disability on 28 Jan 1863. Enlisted in the 6th Pennsylvania Cavalry for one year on 27 Feb 1865. Mustered in as a Private in Company A on the same day he enlisted. Promoted to Sergeant on 1 Apr 1865. Transferred to Company B, 2nd Pennsylvania Provisional Cavalry on 17 Jul 1865. Mustered out with the Regiment at Lebanon, Kentucky on 7 Aug 1865. A charter member of G. K. Warren Post No. 21 of North Yamhill, Yamhill County, Oregon. Served the Post as Senior Vice Commander in 1884, Commander in 1885, Quartermaster Sergeant in 1886 & 1891, and Sergeant Major in 1887. Died in Los Angeles County, California.
