Born in Cicero, Onondaga County, New York. Enlisted in the 185th New York Infantry for one year at Cicero, New York. Mustered in as a Private in Company B at Syracuse, New York on 19 Sep 1864. The Regiment marched in the Grand Review in Washington, DC on 23 May 1865. Mustered out with his Company near Washington, DC on 30 May 1865. A member of A. J. Smith Post No. 17 of Drain, Douglas County, Oregon. Served the Post as Officer of the Day in 1884. Later joined Geo. G. Sykes Post No. 28 of Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon as a charter member. Served the Post as Officer of the Day in 1884 and 1885. Died in Harrison Hospital at Brownsville, Linn County, Oregon.
