Born in Nashville, Brown County, Indiana. Enlisted in the 1st Oregon Cavalry for one year at Oakland, Oregon. Mustered in as a Private in Company A at Eugene, Oregon the same day he enlisted. Jul-Aug 1865 on detached service at Warner's Valley, Oregon. Sep-Oct 1865 on escort duty for a pack train to Fort Klamath, Oregon. On 18 Feb 1866 on detached duty at Fort Vancouver, Washington Territory. Mustered out upon the expiration of his term of service at Fort Vancouver, Washington Territory on 24 Mar 1866. A member of G. K. Warren Post No. 21 of North Yamhill, Yamhill County, Oregon. Served the Post as both Adjutant and Surgeon in 1888. A physician by occupation. Died at his home in Greenville, Washington County, Oregon.
