Born in Cambridge Twp, Lenawee County, Michigan; died at Kent, King County, Washington. He enlisted from home at Cambridge as a Full Sergeant, and mustered in on 21 Jan 1863. He mustered out with his unit at Lexington, North Carolina. He first came to Washington Territory in 1888 to settle in Lincoln County, and may have joined the GAR there through Buckman Post 14, Sprague. He was deputy assessor of Lincoln County. He was in receipt of pension from 29 Sep 1885 (cert 870,943). He was admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County on 3 Oct 1908 and died while on furlough.
