Born in Massachusetts. A resident of Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota when enlisted in the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry for three years at Rochester, Minnesota. Mustered in as a Private in Company L at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 4 Jan 1864. Promoted to 1st Corporal on 28 Nov 1864. Mustered out and discharged with his Company at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Died in Tacoma, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
