Mustered out with his Company at Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio on 3 Sep 1861. Enlisted in the 84th Ohio Infantry for three months on 10 Jun 1862. Mustered in as a Private in Company G at Camp Chase, Ohio the same day he enlisted. Mustered out with his Company at Camp Delaware, Ohio on 20 Sep 1862. Enlisted in the 124th Ohio Infantry for three years. Mustered in as a Sergeant in Company G at Camp Cleveland, Ohio on 20 Nov 1862. Captured during the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia on 19 Sep 1863. Mustered out by order of the War Department at Camp Chase, Ohio. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Admitted to the Central Branch of the National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio on 1 Oct 1878 and dropped from the rolls on 4 Sep 1879. Admitted to the Western Branch of the National Homes at Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas on 13 Jul 1894 and discharged at his own request on 22 Oct 1895. Re-admitted to Central Branch of the National Homes at Dayton, Ohio on 6 May 1896 and discharged at his own request on 15 Apr 1898. Admitted to the Marion Branch of the National Homes at Marion, Grant County, Indiana on 9 Oct 1898 and transferred to the Western Branch on 11 Jun 1901. Re-admitted to Western Branch of the National Homes at Leavenworth, Kansas on 15 Jun 1901 where he died.
