Born in Pennsylvania. A resident of New Florence, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania when he enlisted in the 135th Pennsylvania Infantry for nine months at New Florence, Pennsylvania on 8 Aug 1862. Mustered in as a Private in Company F at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on 14 Aug 1862. Mustered out with his Company at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 24 May 1863. Enlisted in Company B, 1st Battalion, Pennsylvania Cavalry for six months on 1 Jul 1863. Mustered out on 1 Dec 1863. A resident of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania when he enlisted in the 211th Pennsylvania Infantry for one year. Mustered in as a Corporal in Company I. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. In 1891 he served the Post as Officer of the Guard. Died in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington.
