Born in Ireland. A resident of Newport, Sullivan County, New Hampshire when he enlisted in the 2nd New Hampshire Infantry for three years at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Mustered in as a Private in Company B at Portsmouth, New Hampshire on 1 Jun 1861. Accidentally wounded, and as a result, was mustered out at Bladensburg, Prince George's County, Maryland. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. On 11 Feb 1904 he was admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington. On 15 May 1917 he transferred to the Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil, Kitsap County, Washington. While on furlough from the Veterans Home, he died in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington.
