A resident of La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin when he enlisted in the 2nd Wisconsin Cavalry. Mustered out at Austin, Texas. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington on 7 Nov 1904 and discharged at his own request on 16 Feb 1906. Died at the Western Washington Hospital for the Insane at Fort Steilacoom, Pierce County, Washington.
