Born in Orange County, Virginia. A resident of Akron, Peoria County, Illinois when he enlisted in the 33rd Illinois Infantry for three years at Bloomington, Illinois. Mustered in as a Private in Company B at Camp Butler, Illinois on 2 Sep 1861. Re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer at Indianola, Texas on 1 Jan 1864. Re-mustered on the same day. Mustered out as a Corporal at Vicksburg, Mississippi on 24 Nov 1865. Discharged at Chicago, Illinois on 6 Dec 1865. A member of Meade Post No. 2 of Oregon City, Clackamas County, Oregon. Later became a member of Gen. Lyon Post No. 26 of Toledo, Lincoln County, Oregon. Served the Post as Adjutant in 1888. Interred in Asylum Cemetery, most of those buried there were dis-interred and cremated; unclaimed cremains are still held at the hospital. Grave markers were all removed from the site. Ingraham either wasn't dis-interred, or his cremains have been lost. Another possibility is that he was dis-interred, cremated and his ashes were claimed by family.
