Born in Monroe, Tennessee. Enlisted in the 15th Missouri Cavalry for 20 months at Cave Springs, Missouri. Mustered in as a Private in Company C at Springfield, Missouri on 18 Aug 1864. On 9 May 1865 detached service at Granby, Missouri. Mustered out with his Company at Springfield, Missouri on 1 Jul 1865. A member of Donelson Post No. 26 of Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon. Served the Post as Junior Vice Commander in 1885. On 1 Mar 1917 admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California. Discharged at his own request on 26 Jun 1917. Died in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.
